River's End Gallery

Located in downtown Waukesha, River's End Gallery at 380 West Main Street was my favorite out of the 3 others I went to see. At River's End there was a wide variety of art work and media used. One of my favorite pieces was done by Nick Bower who creates wonderful pieces of art out of glass. Most of his pieces caught my eye because of the bright color and the reflection from the sun it creates. The most interesting thing I learned was that my favorite piece was hand essembled so it looks different each time it is essembled. My second favorite piece was Anthony Soshkich's "Invitation to the Garden" done with oil paint. This one also popped out to me because of the lighting and shadows that complement and warm summer day in a garden. It also pulls you in and makes it as if you were the one entering the garden. This artist was also one of my favorites because of his attention to the detail in nature. Another favorite of mine was done by Annette Renee's "Spotted Drum" which used water color pencil. It was one of my favorites because of the attention to detail in the shells behind the fish and the bright blueness of the fish, which was the only color in the painting and caught my eye. If you want to know more of River's End Gallery you can check out http://www.riversendgallery.com/ to see more artwork including paintings, glass blown pieces, and jewelry. They also have a list of the artists and some pictures of their artwork and a little bit about themselves. I would defiantly recommended visiting River's end for anyone who is into art by local artists.
